In an article posted yesterday afternoon, Chronicle reporter Sarah Rufca had some new details about the four bars and restaurants set to open downtown between now and the beginning of April. First, Joshua Martinez confirms that Goro & Gun, the ramen and more shop he's opening in partnership with Grand Prize owners Brad Moore and Ryan Rouse, will be located at 306 Main; that's next door to Bad News Bar: the new project from Anvil/Haven/Fitzgerald's veteran Justin Burrow. Martinez offers further details on the menu, too, including that he and chef David Coffman plans to serve "the best damn fried chicken in the whole damn city."
In addition to Goro & Gun, the article contains the first word about a new bar at 410 Main called Clutch City Squire. Owner Steve Hannigan describes the space as "an industrial-modern take on the saloon." Finally, there's Batanga, the 5,000 square foot Latin American restaurant located next to the The Original OKRA Charity Saloon at 908 Congress.
