t's time once again to crown the hottest chef in Houston in Eater's Annual Hottest Chef Competition. Last year, Ooh La La's Vanessa O'Donnell defeated Ronnie Killen before losing in the national rounds. Unbelievably, an Austin chef won the whole shooting match last year. Surely, that can't be allowed to happen again.

The contest will offer both the underdogs and front runners the chance to battle it out in preliminary votes and final elimination rounds. This year's twist is that, instead of slowly playing out over two weeks, all voting will take place throughout one action packed day of hotness. That day just so happens to be February 14, Hot Chefs Day.

Before we get to all that sexy excitement, we need your help. Send houston@eater.com your nominations for the hottest chef in town, along with a good, clear picture or link to an image file of one. Only restaurant chefs currently working in the industry are allowed, and the previous year's winner is not permitted to enter.

Nominations are due one week from today, Monday February 11, after which they will be culled and seeded. Then, on February 14, kaboom! Voting frenzy.
