Yesterday, the organizers of the Houston Barbecue Festival gathered 15 of Houston's preeminent barbecue professionals for a Chronicle photoshoot to promote the event that will be held in less than two weeks. It's almost certainly the first time that group has ever been in a room together. Thankfully, Eater photographer Gary R Wise happened to get this stealth shot. According to this post on 29-95, going left to right, the group consists of:
Virgie's Adrian Handsborough, Lisa Jordan of Burns BBQ, Gatlin's Greg Gratlin, Don Blake of Blake's BBQ, Ray Busch of Ray's BBQ Shack, Pizzitola's Carlton Gould, Erik Mrok of Lenox BBQ, Corkscrew's Will Buckman, Wayne Kammerl of The Brisket House, Gary Burns of Gary Burns Old Fashion Pit BBQ, Jamie Fain of Fainous BBQ, Ronnie Webber with Tin Roof BBQ, Trent Brooks of Brook's Place, Kathy Braden of Burns BBQ and Jose Luis Lopez of Gerardo's Drive-In Grocery
Tickets for the Houston BBQ Festival are $40 for general admission or $80 for VIP. Buy them here. Word is they're selling fast.
