My Table magazine's Phaedra Cook offers some rather harsh thoughts on the Goro & Gun preview dinner she attended on Monday. Although she writes that most of the dishes were home runs, she opens by noting two "strikeouts." First, she thinks the ramen broth "suffered from excessive oiliness" and that the fried chicken's sous-vide preparation "did the texture no favors." Tough standard for a restaurant that was serving paying customers for the very first time, but Cook concludes with "I still have high hopes for the ramen." Cold. Blooded. [Sidedish]
