Ronnie Killen to Launch Barbecue March 30

Killen's Steakhouse chef/owner Ronnie Killen says that he will launch a pop up version of his upcoming Killen's BBQ restaurant beginning March 30. Until the barbecue restaurant's location in Pearland is ready, Killen will serve food Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until sold out at his steakhouse. On the menu will be brisket, pork ribs, sausage and the beef ribs that earned him a first place at last month's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Best Bites competition. Killen smokes his barbecue in an all-wood smoker that's fueled by a mixture of post oak and mesquite.

Killen floated the idea this weekend on a Facebook group and received an overwhelmingly positive response. Given that, expect a line and quick sell outs when service begins. Diners who missed Best Bites but want a preview can get one in three weeks at the Houston BBQ Festival. Tickets for that event are $40 and are on sale here.
