Churrascaria chain Texas de Brazil arrived in CityCentre this week. Although it's the company's first Houston location, there are four others in Texas and over 20 across the country. At 8500sq ft with a capacity of 225 people, the space houses two private dining rooms, a bar and a patio. The concept will be familiar to anyone who's patronized a similar establishment; men parade through the dining room with an impressive selection of different kinds meat on skewers. There's also a massive salad bar with over 50 vegetables, sides and other dishes. At $45 for dinner (lunch will start later), it's not cheap, but few dining experiences offer the same thrill of unmitigated gluttony.
The restaurant is running two specials to promote its opening. From April 15 to April 19, Texas de Brazil will serve a free caipirinha to anyone of age who walks in the door and asks nicely. Also, from now through April 30, the restaurant will include a free dessert with the purchase of a regular dinner.
