Is the Free Press Crew Opening a Bar in Montrose?

On Friday night, a TABC notice went up in the window of the former Sophia space at Mandell and West Main. Although the TABC website does not have any results for the business, the Free Press Summer Fest sticker at the bottom left corner does give a clue as to the owners. A search of the LLC's records on the Texas Secretary of State website shows that two of the directors are Omar Afra and Jagatjit Katial, who are also partners in Free Press and the Pegstar concert promotion company.

Eater Houston has attempted to contact Afra and Katial but has yet to receive a response. For now, the details of what the bar will be, what it will be called and what deal with the devil inspired their LLC's name are a mystery. When they reach out, expect a new post with more details.
