In a post last night on its Facebook page, Moon Tower Inn revealed that their plans for a second establishment called The Gift Horse Lounge were a fakeout, and that the next establishment will be called Voodoo Queen. Details, including an exact location, are still light, but the Facebook post promises "a bar with full liquor, some shit to do, a damn fine jukebox, third coast cooking and a black light or two." Sounds pretty great, honestly.
Eater has reached out to Moon Tower owner Brandon Young for more details and will update the post when there's more information.
See below for an update
Update: In a conversation with Eater, Young describes the space as "more of a bar, full liquor, pretty divey, jukebox, dark" than Moon Tower. He isn't ready to identify specific menu items but says the menu will feature "stuff you'd find along the Gulf Coast from Mexico to Louisiana to Florida." Prices will be reasonable with $5 house margaritas and a $4 daily beer and shot special. Finally, he declined to provide an exact location because he "doesn't want people stopping by and bothering the construction workers," but did let on that it's close to both Moon Tower and the new light rail construction.
Voodoo Queen is targeting a June 1 opening, with all the usual caveats.
