In this news broadcast, KHOU reporter Shern-min Chow has the utterly bizarre tale of UH student Gabe Salazar; his pickup truck was stolen when a thief tricked a Midtown valet into giving him Salazar's truck. When a person claims to have lost his ticket, the valet requires proof of insurance and a driver's license before they surrender the car. In this case, the thief said the documentation was in the truck, hopped in to retrieve it and drove off.
Chow reports that the valet's insurance carrier "is working with Salazar to take care of things."
