Sports and spirits restaurant Katch 22 opens today in the former Convivio space on Durham. The concept brings together one of Houston's most prominent restaurant families in Luke Mandola with Kory Clemens, son of former Red Sox/Yankees/Astros pitcher Roger. Clemens, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, has created a menu that reflects the diversity of his upbringing with both Texan and New England elements. That includes a New England lobster roll (and lobster sliders) as well as very intriguing sounding Bloody Mary burger.
Inside, there's sports memorabilia in the form of signed jerseys (including a couple from dad, of course) and artwork on the walls. While there are TVs in the dining room, they are fewer in number and smaller in size than would typically be found in a sports bar. Expect a full Eater Inside next week once all the details are finalized.
Katch 22 is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday. It's open until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
