In a post on the Killen's BBQ Facebook page, chef/owner Ronnie Killen is finally ready to show off the former school cafeteria where he plans to build Killen's BBQ as "the best barbecue place period." Although he's been targeting the location since February, he tells Eater that he only
signed the lease on purchased the space last Friday and expects it to be open in "hopefully" a maximum of three months.
"We have been very busy over the last couple days," Killen says about his progress at the space. Expect to see the results of that work in the next two to three weeks, when Killen moves his barbecue pop-up from his steakhouse to the new location. In the meantime, diners can sample the fruits of his labor starting at 11:00 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
