Bun B and Uchi Unite for FPSF Performance Art Pop-Up

Uchi culinary director Philip Speer and hip hop legend Bun B are collaborating on a performance art breakfast on June 1 as part of Free Press Summer Fest. Details are scant at this point: the exact concept, attendance number and cost to attend are all unknown. Speer and Bun may seem like unlikely collaborators, but Bun has called Uchi one of his favorite restaurants in Houston and served as a judge at Uchi's 86'ed competition last year.

An Eater tipster reveals what is known. The meal/happening will occur in the Blaffer Museum tent as a component of the Feast Dinner Series, in which Uchi chefs work with artists to create meals that are inspired by specific art works. A very limited number of tickets will be made available only to people who have already purchased either Fancy Pants or High Roller tickets. Yes, it will be an official Big Deal.

Eater has reached out to Speer for comment and will update this post as soon as he replies.
