Local Cajun restaurant/bar Woodrows has taken to Kickstarter to raise $110,000 to transform a property in Cypress into its next location. One problem, as pointed out in this Houston Business Journal story, is that the project is only $1,800 towards the goal ahead of tomorrow's deadline for funding. However, perhaps all is not lost; the page notes that the mostly unincorporated subdivisions that constitute Cypress are "considered to be larger than cities like Las Vegas, Cleveland, Miami and Atlanta." There are certainly enough people to make the project viable in a hurry if the word spreads fast enough.
As for the incentives, $50 earns an invite to the restaurant's friends and family service, $100 brings dinner for four and $1,000 gets a 200lbs crawfish boil including a keg. Those funds will go towards interior and exterior decor, a POS system and purchasing the initial inventory. Cypress residents should get to contributing if this idea seems like a good one, because the clock is ticking.
