Nola Chef Chris DeBarr Guesting at Art Event Tomorrow

New Orleans chef Chris DeBarr will host a pop-up as part of the Lost Art of Spreading a Rumor art show taking place at Hendrick's Pub on Kirby tomorrow from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. DeBarr is a Commander's Palace veteran whose restaurant Green Goddess earned him national acclaim and whose newest restaurant Serendipity is a current member of the Eater New Orleans heatmap. As demonstrated by the menu to the right, DeBarr's cuisine mixes global influences with local, seasonal ingredients in a way that pays homage to the dishes that inspire him while simultaneously setting out on his own path. DeBarr will be joined in the kitchen by New Orleans native/restaurant consultant Eoghan Dillman, who worked with DeBarr at Delachaise in New Orleans, and by Nosh Bistro co-owner Neera Patidar.

Neither man is ready to say whether tomorrow's event is a one-off reunion of old friends or a preview of a new project. Regardless of whether tomorrow's event is or isn't a preview of a new restaurant, at the very least, it gives Houston diners the chance to sample cuisine prepared by a renowned chef for about $10 per plate. That's worth celebrating on a random Thursday.
