Kata Ro-Dog-A Coming Soon; Dossant Mania Rages

HOT DOG WIREKata Robata chef Manabu Horiuchi created the special edition hotdog that James Coney Island will serve throughout July. The Kata Ro-Dog-a is a Panko-crusted, deep-fried Hebrew National all-beef dog that's topped with soft-scrambled eggs, Japanese curry sauce, pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, Yuzu Kosho QP Mayo and micro greens. It can be found at the 21 area JCI's for $6.29 starting July 1. [EaterWire]

PEARLAND— The dossants are Pena's Donut Heaven & Grill are proving so popular that the restaurant is limiting them to two per person. Customers can order up to a dozen of the knockoff cronuts in advance. [Twitter]

WESTCHASE— According to this week's Whine & Dine, German restaurant Rudi Lechner's refused to allow a customer to pay for a buffet to go to feed his "93-year-old homebound father."
