Georges Guy's Bistro Des Arts Now Open on Westheimer

New, 2 comments

Georges Guy, the chef behind restaurants including Chez Georges and Bistro Provence, has apparently come out of retirement to open a new restaurant called Bistro Des Arts in the former Mumbai Spice space on Westheimer. Guy is considered one of the patriarches of French cooking in Houston. In addition to the restaurants he started, his son operates Bistro Provence and his daughters owns both Café Rabelais and Brasserie Max and Julie.

In this French-language story, Guy explains that, despite making his third attempt at retirement and having to battle cancer, he still wanted to be in the kitchen, so he's back with his wife Monique. In addition to serving lunch and dinner six days a week (closed Tuesdays), the 80-seat restaurant will showcase a rotating display of pieces by various artists.
