Summer's Here: Fresh Peach Pie Back on at House of Pies

As of yesterday, all night diner House of Pies has begun serving its fresh peach pie. If the possibility of triple digit temperatures isn't enough of a sign that summer's here, the arrival of this signature dish should do the trick. The recipe is simple: fresh, raw peaches get a light syrup glaze that's served in a flaky, buttery crust and topped with whipped cream. No, the whipped cream isn't optional, but it pairs wells with the firm, fresh fruit.

This seasonal favorite is only available for the next two months or so. Get a slice while it lasts. If going late, it's best to call ahead, because fans have been known to flock to the restaurant and buy out a day's supply. At $3.50 (or $12 for a whole pie), it's also an excellent value.
