Austin-based chain Pluckers Wing Bar will take over the shuttered Maggie Rita's space on Shepherd. According to the Chronicle's Prime Property blog, the Houston location will be the company's 16th. The menu features 19 wing sauces along with burgers, salads and fried stuff.
Earlier this year, ESPN called it a top five sports bar in North America, so it should fit in well with neighbors like Woodrows Heights, Little Woodrow's on Shepherd and Katch 22. It's also part of the mini-trend of Austin bars and restaurants trying their luck in Houston that includes Torchy's Tacos, Uchi and Dogwood Patio Bar. Now if Ramen Tatsu-ya would just hurry up and follow those restaurants to Houston.
