Car service company Uber may not be able to bring its black car or ride sharing services to Houston (yet?), but tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. it will deliver ice cream on demand. According to the company's blog, patrons need to download the Uber app, press the ice cream button during the time period, and, if a truck is available, it will show up with ice cream for four people and a bunch of Uber swag. The app automatically bills a credit card, so no cash is required.
Eatsie Boys co-owner Ryan Soroka tells Eater that they're participating in the promotion and will be delivering their "frozen awesome" wherever Uber sends them. Soroka also teases the possibility of a "special guest" that may make an appearance.
One warning from Uber: "Demand will be high and it might take a few tries so if your request doesn't go through at first, keep trying! We'll be delivering as much ice cream as we can."
