Whisk(e)y Wed. at Cottonwood; Museum Happy Hour

GARDEN OAKS— Tonight Cottonwood will be awash with the amber promise of whiskey as the Garden Oaks gastropub hosts the next in a weekly Wednesday tasting series. Grady Skelton will be playing Texas-inspired country tunes for tonight's Whisk(e)y Wednesday at 7 p.m. There is no cover, but tips for the bands are encouraged. [EaterWire]

MUSEUM DISTRICT— Thursday nights at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston are all about free admission and a cash bar. Enjoy the museum's art for free and happy hour with friends August 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will feature cocktails, a local DJ and Ladybird food truck will serve up bites until they run out of food.

RICE VILLAGEKaty's No Label Brewing Co. will be making the trek into town on August 6 for a special Meet the Brewer event at Gingerman. Brewmaster and founders will greet the public, and will answer questions about the brewing process. Also look our for their 1st Street blonde ale, which will be released on this day, too. [EaterWire]
