Killen's Barbecue to Open This Fall

The highly anticipated permanent space for Killen's BBQ is under construction, as the Facebook page shows images of an interior that's sure to get big-time carnivores excited. Prospective customers have been lining up for weeks at weekend pop-ups, where many people have waited hours for a taste of Ronnie Killen's popular BBQ. Now he will soon have a spot that operates full time, so the lines will be more manageable. In the meantime, those weekend cookouts will still be held every Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. until they run out of food. A rep for Killen's tells Eater they expect to be open sometime in October or November at 3613 East Broadway.

After a few run-ins with pit problems, where his 8k-plus dollar pit had gone missing, the restaurant building is back on schedule. Hopefully pit theft and even brisket theft won't cause another setback.
