After several tasting events and test batches of beer, City Acre Brewing Co. just received and installed its fermenter tanks. The forthcoming brewpub is slated to open its doors and taps later this year at 3421 Folger Street (10 minutes from downtown), inside of a Victorian-inspired house that's also home to owners Matt Schlabach and Meredith Borders.

Those who have already attended Cabtoberfest or other tastings have been privy to Brussels sprouts slaw and Saint Arnold's Santo-marinated sausages—consumed directly from the corn husks in which they were smoked, of course.

An all-in commitment to locally-sourced or grown-on-site ingredients will comprise every dish at this homey brewpub. Four City Acre brews will share a tap wall with 15 to 20 other local beers, some of which will be used for cooking. Check back for an update on their next public tasting event and soft opening date.
