Although restaurants can be notorious for pushing back opening dates due to unforeseen complications, the beginning of construction for Fish and the Knife dates all the way back to 2010, when Swamplot first noticed a possible delay. Eater also featured it as part of our spring tracking in March. But now it looks like they are making steady progress, and general manager James Picou tells Eater that they are targeting a mid-October soft opening date.
Billed as a restaurant, lounge and nightclub, this new spot will offer Japanese barbecue, sushi and a sizable spirits selection. Picou will be in town next week to supervise the progress. The interior is shaping up to be a sleek, modern space outfitted with industrial appliances and furnishings.
