The Mutt Barkus Dog; Brews Cruise at Local Pour

New, 1 comment

RIVER OAKS— Today Karbach Brewing Co.'s next Brews Cruise will start at Local Pour in River Oaks at 6 p.m. Cyclists will take a boozy bike ride to the brewery, where they'll be met with some tasty local brews, fresh from the taps. [Eaterwire]

WASHINGTON CORRIDOR— This Wednesday, August 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Little J's on Washington will host Bourbon & Bacon. Go by to sample bourbon and ask for their limited edition sandwich, The Big Pig. It's an Italian hot link tucked into bacon-wrapped pork loin that's been stuffed with sausage cornbread, topped with provolone and held together by an onion bun. [Eaterwire]

HOT DOG WIRE—For a simpler helping of pork, stop by James Coney Island and sample this month's signature dog. Now that Kata Robata's Manabu Horiuchi has had his turn, it's the Eatsie Boys' Matt Marcus' limited edition "Mutt Barkus Dog" that's the feature of the month. The "Mutt Barkus" holds the record for most dogs sold on the first day. We'll see if Sparrow's Monica Pope, Hugo's Hugo Ortega or Mockingbird Bistro's John Sheeley can top it in upcoming months, when they premiere their gourmet hot dogs. [Eaterwire]
