Party Like a Rock Star; Drink Like a Poet

DOWNTOWN— This Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight is Planned Parenthood Young Leaders' Party Like a Rock Star. Margaritas will be provided by El Gran Malo. And Sparrow, The Corkscrew and Sprinkles Cupcakes are donating prizes for the costume contest. Tickets, which can be purchased at the door, are $40 unless you spring for the VIP experience featuring food from Pondicheri and Sorrel.

RIVER OAKS— Featuring a quaint French interior and a view of the colorful flower nursery, the only way Tiny Boxwood's could get any sweeter is with a tiny foam mural in your latte. This Sunday at 7 p.m. Blacksmith's baristas are heading to the W. Alabama location for this month's Second Sunday Throwdown where they will compete to see who makes the best latte art.

MIDTOWN— The Fernet Branca might not on tap at the moment, but a smoky whiskey is on draft at Mongoose Versus Cobra, and it's ready to be poured for those who attend the next poetry reading night. This month's reading series event is Monday night at 8 p.m. at the Midtown bar.
