Writers in the Schools at Sparrow; Sexist Bar Sign

MIDTOWN— If you like literature, happy hour cocktails and great food, head to Sparrow Bar + Cookshop tomorrow (September 11) at 6 p.m. for "Night WrITers" to benefit Writers in the Schools. Enjoy wine and a performance by Meta-Four Houston. [Eaterwire]

DOWNTOWN— Tomorrow (September 11) at 5:30 p.m. is the next Sundown at the Grove, a weekly event at this downtown restaurant which features breweries and beer lessons. Rahr & Sons Brewing Company is hosting with $15 flights. This one also features music by Andrew Dansby who says on the Facebook event page: "The Phil Collins comes at no additional charge." BEER WIRE— A Jezebel tipster submitted a photo of a Brooklyn bar's sign that lists why beer is superior to women. As delicious as beer is, this ridiculous sign and its weak "observations" aren't even clever. [Jezebel]
