Sweet Lola in Midtown is closing its doors at the end of this month, as the owner Sarina Blanchard made public in an announcement. Blanchard says: "Our last day will be September 30, 2013. Plenty of time to get your fill of Lavender, Blush and PBCroutons!" Blanchard tells Eater that they are closing because the "lack of parking causes an accessibility issue for us," she says. "Also, the trade area is predominately nightlife, bars and clubs. We are looking at other location options."
Houston Chronicle's Syd Kearney reports that Pesca World Seafood in River Oaks and Skeeters in Town & Country Village are closing, too. Pesca's chef and owner Alberto Alfonzo also owned Tintos, which was the previous establishment at that same site. Skeeters is said to be closing because of a new commercial development opening in the Town & Country shopping complex.
