Apart from Eater's list of exciting fall restaurant openings, there are also some highly anticipated bars on the horizon.
Houston Chronicle's Joey Guerra has already visited Barbarella, which officially opens to the public this Sunday, September 8. He writes: "Last weekend's soft opening attracted a crowd that includes familiar Houston music faces, including Nate McKee of the Answer Page and Daniela Hernandez and Kitty Beebe of New York City Queens. The club is dark, grimy and true to the Austin location's hipster spirit. There are spacious areas to dance and lots of tucked-away corners for conversations and otherwise. One particularly shadowy room with bean-bag chairs recalls legendary make-out spot Marfreless." [Houston Chronicle]
CultureMap's Desiree Alvarez describes Worhals in Midtown, which is slated to open to the public this Thursday, September 5. She explains the difference in spelling and mentions the extensive craft beer selection. About the food and concept, she writes: "The menu will include burgers, steaks and wings, along with healthier items, like wraps, salads, paninis, grilled fish and chicken. And the owners plan to showcase local art and music." [CultureMap]
