An El Tiempo Is Expected to Open In Webster This April

It looks like popular Tex-Mex restaurant El Tiempo is heading to Webster with its biggest location to date. A rep for the El Tiempo office tells us that construction at the site began recently, and it should be open to the public by late April. The most recent location opened in May of last year on Navigation, with some Houstonians curious to know why they opened so close to the Original Ninfa's (Houston's Tex-Mex mecca). It seems to have worked out fine for the Laurenzo family franchise--that family also once owned Ninfa's before selling it years ago--because at 15,000 square feet, this new El Tiempo in Webster is expected to be much bigger than its predecessors; it will seat upwards of 300 to 325 people (the approximate seating capacity of the Navigation spot). The rep tells us that the Webster El Tiempo will feature the same menu and signature margaritas as their other locations. The owners are hoping that the sixth restaurant will be open in time for the Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

Webster is also welcoming the second Jinya Ramen location with the first location slated to open in Midtown later this year. The Webster Jinya hasn't set a prospective opening date, but it will be situated at 18299 Egret Bay.
