The space at Hotel Sorella in CityCentre that once housed Bistro Alex, which has most recently been known at The Bistro, will soon become a new concept altogether. Known tentatively as Radio Milano (upstairs) and Radio Bar (downstairs), the transformation comes as an attempt to attract a new audience, especially since a flock of young professionals has moved into the areas surrounding CityCentre. "We're working with the hotel to bring a more upbeat restaurant to the area," representative Eric Nelson said. "We're going to offer something different on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We're doing a late-night concept with a cover charge. At 10 p.m. we will charge a cover charge for the restaurant, music turns up, lights go down, guests sit down, and we start flooding the restaurant with small plate service bringing random items to the table giving guests new experiences." The kitchen will be sending out "modern Italian" food to fit the theme behind of the hotel, and the bar will remain open until 1 a.m. with high-end cocktails and spirits. While they were hoping for a January debut, Nelson says that Radio Milano and Radio Bar should debut to the public sometime in late spring to early summer. Although representatives for CityCentre state that they haven't firmed up a prospective opening date.
