Hubbell & Hudson's cooking school and market is closing. The rumor spread on Facebook recently, and CultureMap confirmed the news over the weekend, reporting that the closure of that Woodlands hub of gourmet bites and culinary classes could come as soon as March 12. Patrons took to Hubbel & Hudson's Facebook page to ask for a confirmation, and were met with this response: "Sorry we failed your expectations - please be patient, we'll make an official announcement soon. The Bistro and the Kitchen is not closing." It appears that while the dining establishments are in good shape, the market wasn't as successful and was looking at stiff competition from competing stores, namely H-E-B and Whole Foods. (A Whole Foods is set to open nearby in 2015.) While the Viking Cooking School and market are closing, the bistro will remain open, and according to CultureMap, "in the market's place, Hubbell & Hudson will expand its waterfront restaurant and add private dining space. Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen, a more casual restaurant and market in another part of The Woodlands, is not affected by this decision."
