HEIGHTS— The Chronicle's Alison Cook visited recently opened Fat Cat Creamery and recommends the brown-butter waffle cones. "Brown butter and brown sugar combine to give the cones a round, nuanced flavor that's reminiscent of a really good cookie, crisp and burnished. They're eloquent testimony to the Maillard reaction, the magic that occurs when amino acids and sugars bronze up in the presence of heat." [Houston Chronicle]
MONTROSE— This Saturday, the self-proclaimed Sugar Hooker Rebecca Masson will host another Fluff Bake Bar pop-up at Southside Espresso. It starts at 8 a.m. and runs until the treats are sold out. More info here. [Eaterwire]
