DOWNTOWN— Head to downtown's seasonal ice rink, Discovery Green's ICE, tomorrow (Jan. 3) for a screening of Despicable Me 2 starting at 6:30 p.m., it's the next in their series of Friday movies. The cost is $12 to skate, with no additional fee for the screening. This Monday the ice rink will will be closed, but it will reopen the following day for Jazz Night with performers playing live while you skate. [Eaterwire]

CHINATOWN— Katharine Shilcutt's got just the cure for your post-New Year's Eve hangover. She recommends ice cream shop Frozen Cafe for some booze-infused gelato: "Current cocktail-based creations include a creamy "vanilla whiskey Crown Royal" with a streak of caramel running throughout; "lemon drop" made with Absolut Lemon; a cheery pink "watermelon mojito" that will hopefully stick around through the summer; a "peach bellini" made with sparkling wine and thick peach slices; and a simple Chambord-flavored gelato that's a deep raspberry hue." MONTROSE— CultureMap reports that Mo Mong will temporarily close to remodel: "Sometimes 'remodel' means 'closed forever,' but hopefully the announcement's upbeat tone indicates a quick turnaround. There's no denying the decor does feel a little dated after all these years, but as long the menu's better elements, like the signature duck spring rolls and various tofu dishes, remain, the restaurant should reopen to continued success."
