Galveston restaurant Luigi's Cucina Italiana was Galveston locals' go-to for high-end Italian fare until the end of last year. The restaurant closed to the public at its Island location back in November, when owner Luigi Ferre announced relocation plans on their website, writing: "We have moved your restaurant to Houston, TX. We look forward to have you in our new location." Construction at this new location is complete, and they anticipate to be open by this Saturday (Jan. 25) at 3030 Audley (see map at right). The Chronicle's Syd Kearney reports that they "will serve house-made pasta and meats from Black Hill Ranch." While Galveston loses one fine dining establishment, Island locals seeking a new date night destination can head to recently opened Number 13 or check out some of the other places participating in Galveston Restaurant Week, which runs until this Saturday.
