CultureMap reports that Washington Ave. is about to gain a new restaurant that's trying to change the way locals view that party-friendly corridor. Eric Sandler writes that the Heights Lodge Gastropub will open at 4115 Washington Ave., where former Washington Avenue Drinkery once stood, on Feb. 7. "Recognizing the need for a restaurant to cater to residents, [co-owner Jason Torres] contacted the owner of the Drinkery with a proposal to convert it into a 'modern, rustic' restaurant that serves what Torres describes as 'American Revival food.'"
