What would hump day be without a great happy hour? Add ice cream into the mix and it's the ultimate hump day treat. Two Houston ice cream shops are unleashing their inner bartender, concocting cocktails in ice cream form for Eater Houston readers.

The cats at Fat Cat Creamery in the Heights are whipping up a Waterloo Strawberry Shake. The shake is crafted with Waterloo a gin, a spirit handcrafted in Texas and juniper syrup spun into the house-made strawberry buttermilk ice cream base. It's topped off with fresh whipped cream using whole milk from Texas dairy farmers' Mill-King and garnished with fresh macerated strawberry jam.

No need to order your bourbon on the rocks or neat, at SweetCup Gelato bourbon is served in a cup or cone. The Montrose gelato shop has whipped up a special batch of its Bourbon Caramel. Owner Jasmine Chida, who recently participated in the Gelato World Tour last spring, starts with her house-made caramel gelato, swirling pours of Maker's Mark Bourbon-Whiskey through out for a cool and boozy treat.

Today, Fat Cat Creamery and SweetCup Gelato are offering both until sold out. Ask for the Eater Houston Happy Hour special and receive the off-the-menu treats at a discount. Fat Cat Creamery is offering a ten percent discount and SweetCup Gelato is offering 15 percent off.
