Christopher Andrus has been hired as the new executive chef at Downtown's Bistro Lancaster, as reported by Houston Chronicle. Andrus has been in the position since September. Prior to Bistro Lancaster, he was a chef at Sorrel Urban Bistro and also worked with distinguished chefs, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Bryan Caswell, notes the Chronicle. Most recently, Andrus appeared on an episode of the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen.

Over in River Oaks, well-regarded sommelier Vanessa Treviño-Boyd departed 60 Degrees Mastercrafted on November 7. She first revealed her plans to leave last month, but where she would go next was unknown until last Friday. Treviño-Boyd announced her last day at the steakhouse on Facebook, followed by the news of her new position: sommelier at Lakeside Country Club in West Houston. Always up for a new challenge, Treviño-Boyd tells CultureMap, "she's particularly looking forward to reaching younger patrons who may have inherited a membership and are looking for something new."
