Giancarlo Ferrara's Amalfi Ristorante Italiano & Bar is open and ready to transport Houstonians to the coast of Amalfi through its seafood-focused menu. Showcasing the ingredients and history of Italy's Amalfi coast, Ferrara  "...will be importing fish, cheese and wines from [his] home town, Salerno, Italy, as well as the neighboring villages, for a true taste of the Amalfi Coast," said the owner and chef in a statement to Houston Business Journal. On the menu are homemade pastas and traditional Amalfi dishes like braised salted codfish with artichokes and potatoes. The restaurant opened November 10 and also offers a weekday happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Further outside the loop in The Woodlands, Houston Chronicle notes Tandoory Taco closed November 9. The owner of the casual Indian fusion restaurant  decided to close "to concentrate its efforts on its Dallas store." In its place, another Indian restaurant, Hyderabad House, serving authentic hyderabadi food. There are currently two locations in the Greater Houston-area: 6439 Westheimer and another in the Energy Corridor at 14838 Park Row.
