Houston Restaurants Show Thanks to Military with Free Meals on Veterans Day

Eateries around town are honoring veterans with their show of appreciation.

Veterans Day is here and it's not just about breaking out the red, white, and blues. It's a day dedicated to recognize the men and women who have served in the various branches of the military. In observance of Veterans Day, restaurants in the Greater Houston-area are paying tribute to those men and women with *free meals and other a small tokens of appreciation.

Free Meals for Veterans

  • III Forks - The upscale steakhouse is footing the bill for lunch or dinner for retired and active duty military. Receive a complimentary entrée (valued up to $35). 1201 San Jacinto, Ste 129, 713-658-9457.
  • Applebee's - The casual dining chain honors all veterans and those on active duty with  complimentary entrée for lunch or dinner when dining in. Select menu items to choose from include: sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, double crunch shrimp with fries and coleslaw, all-American standard burger, chicken tenders platter, Oriental chicken salad, three-cheese chicken penne, and fiesta lime chicken.   • Arby's - Free classic roast beef sandwich at participating locations for veterans.
  • Baker St. Pub & Grill - As a show of thanks and gratitude, the British pub is offering all veterans and active duty military a free fish and chip entrée with purchase of a beverage. Available when dining in only at all locations.
  • Bar Louie - Free entrée for all active and retired military when dining in. 24 Waterway Ave in The Woodlands, 281-719-1900 and 2000 Willowbrook Mall, 832-996-4050.
  • Beck's Prime - Choice of burger or sandwich on the house to all active and retired military personnel. Available at all locations.
  • BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse - Complimentary lunch entrée valued up to $9.95 for all retired and active military. Available at all locations.
  • Bombshells - Veterans are invited to dinner on the house at all three sports bar locations: Webster (803 E. NASA Rd. 1), Spring (21005 IH 45 N) and Houston (12810 Gulf Fwy).
  • Bullrito's: Free lunch or dinner entrée for veterans at all locations.
  • California Pizza Kitchen - Dine in for lunch or dinner for a free entrée. Choose from  the mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza, five cheese and fresh tomato pizza, Thai crunch salad, garlic cream fettuccine with chicken or one other select menu items available to veterans and active duty military. Come in uniform or bring your military I.D. Available at all locations.
  • Cantina Laredo - A complimentary entrée up to $15 for all veterans and active military. 11129 Westheimer, 713-952-3287.
  • Champps Kitchen + Bar - Cheeseburgers are on the house for all veterans and active duty miliary personnel when dining in. 1121 Uptown Park Blvd, 713-627-2333.
  • Chick-fil-A at 45 & Crosstimbers - All veterans will receive a small token of thanks with a free standard meal. 4410 North Fwy, 713-695-8888.
  • Chick-fil-A Bella Terra - Free Chick-fil-A sandwich for all retired and currently active military personnel from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 5644 W Grand Pkwy S in Richmond, 281-238-7777.
  • Chick-fil-A Beltway 8 & Wallisville Rd -  Veterans receive their a free breakfast or lunch/dinner entree of their choice. 5910 E Sam Houston Pkwy N, 281-459-9553.
  • Chick-fil-A Fairmont Parkway -  Breakfast, lunch and dinner is on the house for all veterans. 5104 Fairmont Pkwy in Pasadena, 281-998-2300.
  • Chili's Grill & Bar - The Dallas-based chain is thanking veterans and active duty military for their service with one of the following entrées on the house: Oldtimer with cheese, grilled chicken salad, chipotle chicken or margarita chicken, chicken fresh Mex bowl, sour cream, beef, or green chile enchiladas, Southwest pairings pick-two, any full size flatbread, any lunch combo or any soup and salad combo. The offer is valid when dining in at participating locations. Beverages aren't included.

  • Denny's - The diner chain is giving back to veterans with complimentary Build Your Own Grand Slams from 5 a.m. to noon.
  • Drew's Pastry Place - The Northwest Houston bakery and cafe is honoring all veterans and active duty military with free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 10300 Louetta Rd, 832-717-3530.
  • eT Craft Burgers & Beer - Active military and veterans can get a free burger. 600 Travis St, 713-228-3508 and 19841 Northwest Fwy, 281-807-0200.
  • Fish City Grill - Veterans as well as those are currently active in the military, receive a token of appreciation with a free entrée valued up to $18.99. Available at Katy (23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd), Pearland (11200 Broadway) and Sugar Land (15980 City Walk) locations.

  • Hooter's - All military personnel are invited to purchase a beverage and receive a free lunch or dinner valued up to $10.99. Available at all locations.
  • Houston Texans Grille -  Choice of free entrée (up to $15) with drink purchase for all retired or active military personnel 12848 Queensbury Lane, 713-461-2002.
  • IHOP - The breakfast salutes all military personnel with a complimentary offering of its patriotic Red, White and Blue pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Available at participating locations.
  • Killen's Barbecue - The Pearland smokehouse is offering all veterans a free barbecue plate. The meal comes with brisket and sausage. 3613 E Broadway St. in Pearland, 281-485-2272.
  • Mex-Sea-Co Bar & Grill - This Mexican seafood restaurant is offering military veterans a free entrée from the menu. The special is available all day. 1853 Pearland Pkwy in Pearland, 832-486-9611.

  • Ojos Locos Sports Cantina -  All active and retired veterans are treated to a free meal on the house when dining in. 12200 Gulf Fwy, Ste 850, 832-831-2052 and 4422 North Freeway, 832-203-8383.
  • Sorrel Urban Bistro - The farm-to-table restaurant is honoring all active and retired military with a complimentary dinner. 2202 W Alabama St, 713-677-0391.
  • T.G.I. Friday's - The casual dining chain honors heroes with a free lunch form 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Retired and active duty military personnel may choose from one of the selected entrées available at participating locations.
  • Texas Roadhouse - Veterans will receive a complimentary lunch entrée when dining in. Select menu items include: sirloin steak, country fried chicken, country fried sirloin, pulled pork dinner, grilled pork chop, all-American cheeseburger, barbecue chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, grilled chicken salad and chicken critter salad. Meals are also served with choice of Coca-Cola beverage, tea or coffee. Available at all locations.
