Proving everything's bigger in Texas, Buddy Charity, owner of Maine-ly Sandwiches accomplished his goal of making the world's largest and longest lobster roll over the weekend. Surpassing the previous record of 60 ft, Charity created a whopping 106 foot long sandwich at his third and recently opened location in Kingwood.
KHOU's Lilly Jang posted a video of the sandwich in all its 80 pound glory in a brief clip:
The sandwich didn't go to waste. Attendees took a bite of history, purchasing slices of the massive sandwich. Proceeds from the sandwich sales were donated to Blue Cure, a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring awareness of prostate cancer prevention and treatment.
With Cousin's Maine Lobster opening a mobile outpost in the Houston area, will the Los Angeles-based food truck take the next crack at the record? Inquiring lobster roll lovers across the city will have to eagerly wait and see.
