Houston Chronicle's Food Editor Greg Morago gets the latest scoop on Aquiles Chavez's expansion plans. Chavez, a well-known television chef in Latin America and owner of La Fisheria revealed he's opening a second location in The Woodlands next April. The restaurant will be located in the Indian Springs Village Center at 6777 Woodlands Parkway.
The Chronicle also reports La Fisheria sous chef Beatriz Martines will become the executive chef at the new location. Martines was recently selected to apprentice under the guidance of the Roca brothers at El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain.
No word if Chavez will impose his no kids allowed after 7 p.m. rule in a family-focused community such as The Woodlands.
