Hold on to your seat because Randy Rucker's much anticipated return to Houston's restaurant scene is coming as soon as January. Houston Chronicle food critic, Alison Cook revealed the date earlier today for Bramble, Rucker's and business partner Eoghan Dillman's restaurant at 2231 South Voss (previously Mancuso’s Italian Table). Rucker will offer nightly-changing menus of his signature modern Gulf Coastal cuisine, centered on carefully sourced and foraged regional ingredients," writes Cook about Bramble's concept. She also notes that the restaurant which seats 42 will "open for dinner Tuesday through Friday, and they won’t take reservations except for parties of 6 or more."

The first announcement of Bramble was two years ago, a few months after Rucker parted ways with an investor for the-never-completed conāt. As
Bramble nears its opening, excitement is building with each pop-up dinner Rucker plans.Stints at the Sam Houston Hotel with John Sheely, sous chef at Mark’s American Cuisine, Quattro at Four Seasons Hotel Houston Rainbow Room and acclaimed Bootsie's led to Rucker's nomination as a James Beard  Award semifinalist in 2011 and his growing fan-base.

With Bramble on track to opening and restauranteur Shepard Ross' forthcoming The Dell nearby, there's much to look forward to
near Greater Uptown in 2015.
