Ziggy Gruber owner/chef of Kenny & Ziggy's Deli in the Galleria tells CultureMap he's forging ahead with plans for Dubrow's New York Grill, the New York-style cafeteria-style restaurant replacing Sorrel Urban Bistro next month as first reported by Houston Chronicle. John Dunn, landlord of the 2200 West Alabama property, says otherwise. Dunn and Gruber are disputing leasing terms according to CultureMap, which may prevent Dubrow's New York Grill from opening in the River Oaks strip center.
While the two continue to butt heads, Sorrel Urban Bistro owner Ray Salti has a plan B up his sleeves. If negotiations fall through, Salti will open a second pizza concept called Bollo Wood Fired Pizza. CultureMap notes "Unlike Pepperoni's, the Fort Bend County-based pizza chain Salti also owns, Bollo will specialize in thin crust, authentic, Neapolitan-style pizza."
