Houstonia's Katharine Shilcutt recently discovered Christy's Donuts offers boudin kolaches — an item the Montrose donut shop has had on its menu since spring. Unfortunately to her dismay, the Cajun-inspired Czech treat don't compare to Shipley Do-nuts on North Main:  "The kolache dough at Christy's isn't as good as Shipley's; it's a bit too greasy, too quick to collapse in on itself, and too quick to toughen up if you don't eat it fast enough."
