Executive chef Grant Gordon has left Vallone's, stating that the restaraurant was "no longer a good fit." This news comes not long after the announcement that Vallone's beverage specialist Evan Turner would leave the high-end steakhouse, possibly to focus on a forthcoming Greek restaurant. CultureMap reports that Vallone's will be "keeping it in house" as far as a new chef goes. Chef de cuisine Kate McLean is "firmly in place" at sister restaurant Tony's, and Vik & Anthony's Eric Blokkum has replaced Turner.

Gordon writes in, "I still hold all the restaurants and Mr. Vallone in the highest regard and will always treasure my time there." The chef will travel to the Philippines as part of a culinary diplomacy program from late February through early March but that he has no long-term plans quite yet.
