After all kinds of delays, Fish & The Knife soft opens today in West Houston. The restaurant started construction in 2010— yes, you read that right— and now it's sushi, Creole- and Japanese-inspired fare, and more in a stunning space. Look for the fish tank, "cabana style" booths in the lounge, a two-sided sushi bar, and custom, handmade dinnerware that allegedly took a year to make.
During the soft opening, expect $10 bento boxes and 99-cent martinis from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. On the menu as a whole, there are offerings from executive chef Bob Iacovone and sushi chef David Kim.
Open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. 7801 Westheimer Rd, (713) 677-0220.
