Robb Walsh is Definitely Still at Houstonia

Yesterday, Eater mentioned that there's been some confusion regarding Houstonia food critic Robb Walsh's role at that magazine. After a CultureMap article stated that Houstonia's "much-ballyhooed food editor hire Robb Walsh is reducing his involvement in the magazine" and that it "continues the fledging magazine's trend of quick and often abrupt departures," some readers were left with the impression that Walsh was leaving the magazine altogether. Walsh addressed the rumors and explained that he would not be leaving Houstonia, but that his role there would change from "staff food editor to contributing editor and food critic." Nicole Vogel, president and founder of Houstonia's parent company Sagacity Media, Inc., contacted Eater to deny the rumors that the magazine has seen "staffing turmoil." As for Walsh's role at the magazine, Vogel said:

Robb Walsh is not leaving Houstonia.

Robb Walsh, the author of 14 cookbooks, has now been presented with the opportunity to write several more. Even so, he will continue to be Houstonia's monthly restaurant critic/reviewer and contribute to our food-related cover stories and events to the exact same degree as in the past.

CultureMap's headline read, "Houstonia suffers another big loss: Super hyped, food writer hire leaves full-time position".

It's simply not true.

Eater has reached out to CultureMap for comment and will update if we hear back.
