Shooting at Adair Kitchen Leaves Two Employees Injured

Earlier this week, Adair Kitchen cook Estela Renteria and dishwasher Jose Isabel-Amador Vasquez were robbed and shot by two men as they were leaving that Galleria-area restaurant. Both are expected to survive, although Renteria remains in critical condition. Adair Kitchen owners Nick Adair and Katie Barnhart said:

All of us at Adair Kitchen are shocked and saddened by the events that unfolded in our parking lot on Tuesday night, March 11th. We first and foremost would like to thank the first responders and all of those who rendered aid to our employees that evening.

Our coworker, Estela Renteria, was critically injured in the shooting and she and her family have been, and will remain, our primary concern throughout this trying time. We are blessed with a staff unequal to any other, and ensuring that their needs, both in this situation, and any others that may arise in our future, will forever be our number one priority. We are happy to report that Estela did beautifully in surgery yesterday afternoon. While we are encouraged by her progress over the last 24 hours, we know that the road ahead will be a trying time. A fund has been established in her honor to help her family, and to aid in her recovery expenses.

We again would like to thank all members of our extended Adair Kitchen family for the outpouring of love and support.

Those who want to donate to the fund can click here. Both suspects are still at large; here are some composite sketches from the Houston Police Department.
