Michelle Obama Dined at Triniti Wednesday Night

Triniti was the place to be if you were looking to spot First Lady Michelle Obama, who is in town while President Barack Obama attends some fundraisers. The FLOTUS chose Triniti from a list of restaurants and had dinner with a companion Wednesday night. Since she is a major proponent of healthy eating, it's no surprise that she skipped that restaurant's filet mignon and spaghetti bolognese and opted for salad and fish instead; she even had to be coaxed into trying one of award-winning pastry chef Samantha Mendoza's desserts. "She started with the tomato salad, then local greens, caramelli, then halibut, finished with tropical fruit and [petit four] boxes," Triniti chef/owner Ryan Hildebrand told Eater.

No photos were taken, but the Secret Service allowed Triniti owner Chong Yi and Hildebrand to speak to her before she left. According to the Chron, she "complimented on how wonderful everything was, particularly the halibut, and she commended Mike Khatib, her waiter, and the rest of the staff."
