Big Brothers Big Sisters Benefit; Third Coast Dinner

DOWNTOWN— The Corinthian will host this year's Big Taste of Houston benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Houston from 4 to 7 p.m. Adam Goldberg, author of A Life Worth Eating, will return to round out a judging panel that includes the Chron's Greg Morago and Master Chef winner Christine Ha. In this post, the Houston Press' Mai Pham interviews Goldberg about his favorite travel destinations and what he thinks about our local dining scene. SUPER SECRET DINNER— On April 30, chef Randy Rucker will host a multi-course dinner that spotlights Third Coast cuisine. While the location remains undisclosed, we do know that the cost to attend this BYOB dinner is $65 per person. As for the menu, it won't be published "until the actual day of the event. However, you can count on the menu being studded with lots of cultivated, wild & indigenous products that help provide a connection between the guests & their surroundings." UPPER KIRBY— Just a reminder that beginning this weekend, Triniti's Saturday bakery pop-ups will conclude and make way for Saturday brunch. Pastry chef Samantha Mendoza has crafted a supplemental menu of baked goods, including a revolving set of breads and pastries all available for dine-in or to go. Like Sunday brunch, the Saturday service will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. See the brunch menu here. [Eaterwire]
